Tarponian Invitational Slated for May 1st - 5th
Marathon, Florida Keys
For enthusiastic tarpon anglers, silver kings mean spring and the annual Tarponian Invitational, slated for May 1-5 in Marathon.
Tarponians are to gather Saturday, May 1, for the tournament's 7-9 p.m. kick-off party at the beachside TJ's Tiki Bar at Tranquility Bay, mile marker (MM) 48.5 bayside in Marathon.
A meet-the-captains banquet is set for 2 p.m. Sunday, May 2, also at TJ's Tiki Bar.
Three days of fishing are to get under way Sunday with lines-in at 5 p.m. Lines-out is to be called at 9 p.m. Monday's fishing is to follow the same schedule.
The third and final fishing day is Wednesday, May 5, from 4:30-8:30 p.m.
An awards banquet is set for 9 p.m. Wednesday at Annette's Steak & Lobster House, MM 49 bayside.
