MERCURY REDBONE TOURNAMENT SET FOR NOV. 6-8
ISLAMORADA, Florida Keys -- The Mercury Redbone Tournament, which teams anglers with celebrities to catch redfish and bonefish, is set to take place Friday through Sunday, Nov. 6-8, at the Islander Resort, mile marker (MM) 82.1 oceanside. The tournament is the final leg of a trilogy of fundraising tournaments that benefits cystic fibrosis research.
Superfly action is to begin at 6:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, with a continental breakfast served at the Lorelei dock, MM 82 bayside. Boats can depart the Lorelei at 7 a.m., and fishing continues until lines-out at 3 p.m.
A cocktail party and awards presentation are scheduled for 5 p.m. dockside.
The official Mercury Redbone social is to start with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m. at the Islander Resort Conference Center, followed by dinner and a live auction at the Redbone tent.
Anglers can begin their pursuit of redfish and bonefish Saturday after a 7 a.m. blessing of the fleet. Lines-out is set for 3 p.m.
A dockside celebrity party is to run 3-5 p.m. All dockside events are presented by the Lorelei, the event's dockside host.
Sunday's fishing competition begins with a continental breakfast at 6 a.m. and boat departure at 6:30 a.m. Lines-out is at 3 p.m. and the dockside celebrity party is to run 3-5 p.m.
Cocktails, a silent auction and an awards banquet are to be held at the Islander Resort.
The tournament is a qualifier for the Florida Keys Outfitters/International Game Fish Association Inshore World Championship.
