Tackle Review

Florida east coast waters are included in Navionics new Fish N’ Chip - even shallow waters and marshes are displayed. The entire east coast and all of Florida are included on Navionics new Fish N’ Chip East. The new chip adds a whole new meaning to the use of electronic equipment in finding fish.

Shallow water anglers will be able to have a visual display of their fishing grounds in water as shallow as 1 foot. The new chip makes it easy to find creeks, sloughs and channels where a stealthy approach is necessary to fishing success. I recently used the Fish N’ Chip in unfamiliar waters to discover an underwater cut between two submerged spoil islands. The result was a hookup on the first cast!

The new shallow water data can be used by wade fishermen too. Navionics Sales Manager and tournament fisherman, Paul Michele, said this about the new product. “Using this technology will change the game for inshore fishing as we know it. Not only is this a must have to inshore fisherman but also for the shore bound wade angler as well.”

Offshore anglers will be please with the new chip as well. The detail is much improved over the earlier edition. The Fish N’ Chip shows high resolution offshore and canyon fishing bathymetry. Anglers will find information and locations of rocks, wrecks, tides and currents to use in their angling pursuits.

After trying the chip for himself, Navionics Product Manager for the US and Americas, Shaun Ruge concluded “This is truly like nothing else I have ever used and a level of accuracy I have never seen. It takes a lot to get me animated about new mapping and I am really excited to get this in the hands of people who can and will find new fish with it.”
